Introduction to TSO Using ISPF

Abstract
(2 – 3 Days)

This course provides the student with a working knowledge of the ISPF/PDF full-screen facility to use the TSO operating system.

Audience

This course is open to anyone with an understanding of basic computer features such as programs, disks, tapes, etc.

Topics

• Login/logoff

• PF keys

• Datasets, PDS structures and naming conventions

• Creating, copying, browsing and editing datasets

• Producing dataset lists, and operating on them from within the list

• Dataset printing

• Job submission

• Monitoring jobs using SDSF

Supervised Exercises

A series of exercises will be given after each lecture to reinforce the topics discussed.
