Technology Decoded:
Understanding Information Technology Principles

Are you ever confused by technical terminology when working on IT projects or with IT people?  Would you like a better understanding of the information technologies that support business?

This two-day overview introduces key technical concepts and strategies using a "crazy stuff that works" approach.  This course provides an effective (and fun) way for non-technical folks to quickly get a basic understanding of the essentials of information technology.  You will take an interactive and engaging look at technologies and develop an understanding of the current IT concepts, languages, and acronyms that will help you do your job and interact with IT.

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Understand the infrastructure, architectures and generic types of applications that support business.

  • Appreciate the methodologies used to define system requirements, design and model systems, and plan and manage projects, including common approaches, processes, and techniques

  • Communicate more effectively with co-workers on technical projects by learning to speak and understand the "language" of information technology.
