Managing Project Contracts
Overview
(1 Day)
Do your projects involve Contracts? Project Contracts have
two dimensions, and you must manage both to succeed. Are you bidding upon
and performing contract efforts? Are you contracting with others for
contract performance? If you are in any of these situations, this module
is for you!
This workshop
is structured a little differently than others in our modular curriculum,
as the materials are based on a recently-published book on Project
Contract Management. The costs of this module reflect the cost of a copy
of the book.
Learning Objectives
-
Identify the roles and
responsibilities of key participants in a project contract.
-
Identify the planning
needed to decide when and whether to contract, and the type of contract.
-
Discuss the impact of
project timings, project information (the Statement of Work) and the
trust relationships on the nature of a project bid.
-
Discuss the
processes and support information needed to solicit, select and
administer a contract. Describe the unique Change Control issues of
contracts.

risks. Discuss the unique risks of contract variants: offshore or
onshore outsourcing; partnering; sole-source. Identify ways to manage
the risks.
