Introduction to WebSphere® Studio Site Developer

Java® developers, web page designers and other professionals that will be designing, developing and implementing interactive Websites using HTML, JavaServer Pages, servlets, JavaBeans and implementing them using IBM’s WebSphere® Application Server.

Course Abstract

This course will integrate a combination of instructor-led discussions and interactive workshops to demonstrate the capabilities of IBM’s WebSphere® Studio Site Developer product.  This course will focus on the common set of frameworks and services utilized within this integrated tool platform.  The topics presented in this course include; development and deployment of web applications, HTML, JSP v1.1 specification, utilizing XML, integrating Web services development (SOAP, UDDI and WSDL), SQL query toolset, WAS Single Edition testing environment, Java® development features, servlet 2.2 specification and team development issues.

Course Objectives

  • Upon conclusion participants will have acquired these skills:

  • Understand the integrated capabilities of VisualAge and  WebSphere® Studio in WebSphere® Studio Site Developer

  • Develop web pages using HTML and JSP specifications

  • Using advanced Page Designer to create JSP v1.1 documents

  • Understand XML tools to develop DTDs and XML schemas

  • Illustrate mapping XML to back-end data sources

  • Understand role of Web services and support for SOAP, UDDI and WSDL

  • Demonstrate team development using Concurrent Versions System (CVS)

  • Test web applications using WebSphere® Application Server test environment

  • Deploy applications to WebSphere® Application Server Advanced Single Server Edition

Prerequisites
