Dean Riviera

Dean Riviera specializes in the design and development of advanced application software, communication software, hardware and relational data base management systems.  Mr. Riviera has an in-depth knowledge of enterprise web and non-web architectures for the manufacturing, supply chain, retail, wholesale, logistics, and wireless industries.

Currently an independent consultant, Dean served in various IT management positions for 12 years at the Safelite Group.  As the Safelite Group Director of Web Development / Enterprise Security & Architecture, he had responsibility for the vision, strategy and execution of eBusiness objectives and security strategies for a billion-dollar company that provides claims outsourcing solutions for the nation’s leading fleet and insurance companies, together with leading the U.S. automotive glass aftermarket with its repair and replacement services.

Prior to joining the Safelite Group, Mr. Riviera created and managed Millennium Software Solutions, a single-source software supplier of many vertical application software systems and integrator of application software specializing in vertical software applications in the private and government sectors for the following industries.  His experience includes applications for the Manufacturing, Transportation/Logistics, Hotel/Hospitality, Insurance Claims, Oil & Gas, Pharmaceutical and Telecommunication industries.

Dean currently serves as a Business Review Board Panelist for the State of Ohio Department of Education, advising on Information Technology Competency Skills for the Ohio schools curriculum (i.e. ITWorks.Ohio: www.ITWorks-Ohio.org).  He frequently speaks and serves as a panelist at professional conferences and has published articles in Internet Week, Cnet, Security Pipeline, Zdnet and the Columbus Technology Organization. Dean earned his B.S. in Computer Science and Business Administration from Colorado State University.
