Don Flinn Don Flinn is the founder and president of Flint Security LLC, where he primarily concentrates on Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Web Services security issues via workshops and consulting. Don has over 20 years experience in distributed computer systems working for leading-edge companies, including Hewlett Packard, Iona Technologies, Concept Five and Hitachi Computer Products (America), where he served as the Chief Security Architect. He has architected, designed and lead the implementation of a number of SOA and Web Services products for clients such as Credit Suisse First Boston, Intel, General Motors, Mead Paper, BEA and EDS. Don actively contributes to the OASIS technical committees developing specifications for Service Oriented Architecture and Web Services Security, namely WS-SOArm, WS-Security, SAML and XACML. He has given talks and seminars in SOA and Web Services, is the Web Services Security Expert for SearchWebServices.com, an on-line IT Resource, and chaired the Object Management Group’s (OMG) Security SIG and the CSI v2 specification. Don’s university teaching experience presently includes a number of graduate courses in XML, Web Services, Service Oriented Architecture and Web Services Security at Northeastern University. He has also co-authored two books on distributed security, the latest being “Mastering Web Services Security,” John Wiley & Sons, January 2003.
